Preparing for tomorrow
Globalization is a reality in today's world and it is beyond any one person's or any one country's control. And we all contribute to the global state of affairs. It casts both light and shadow into our lives and our checkbooks. Some will ride these waves of human action and reaction well. Others swamped. Looking at the negative side of terrorism for example: suicide bombing only constitutes about 3% of all incidents in the past ten years and yet is responsible for an average of 33% of injuries and 24% deaths. It is remarkable what the actions of a few individuals—determined and focused—can do. How can this kind of potency and ability to effect change be utilized to create and solve and not destroy? Using this "Power of One" is the work of Global Development—working with individuals and their companies/communities to tap underutlized resources and to extend your impact.
